This plan assumes one hour a day, six days a week, and no prior reading. Adjust the pace if your exam is closer.
Week 1: learn the map
- Days 1–2: Read Chapter 466 sections on definitions, licensure, and scope of practice (ss. 466.003, 466.007, 466.023, 466.024). Do 20 practice questions on scope and supervision.
- Days 3–4: Rules 64B5-16 (delegable duties) and 64B5-25 (infection control). 20 practice questions each day.
- Days 5–6: Discipline. Section 466.028 and Rule 64B5-13. Learn the difference between a citation, a reprimand, probation, suspension, and revocation.
Week 2: fill the gaps
- Days 7–8: Renewal, continuing education, and inactive status (ss. 466.013–466.015, Rules 64B5-12 and 64B5-2).
- Days 9–10: Records, advertising, dental labs, anesthesia rules that mention hygienists (s. 466.017, Rule 64B5-14).
- Day 11: First full mock exam, timed. Do not look anything up.
- Day 12: Review every missed question. Read the cited rule for each one.
Week 3: pace and confidence
- Days 13–15: Daily review queue plus 30 mixed questions. Aim for 85% accuracy.
- Day 16: Second full mock exam.
- Day 17: Review misses. Reread the two or three rules that keep coming back.
- Day 18: Light session: 20 questions, then rest. Sleep matters more than one more hour of cramming.
On exam day, read every stem twice and watch for "except" and "not". The distractors are designed to be plausible; the statute wording is your anchor.
